Christine and Joel Ménard of Domaine des Sablonnettes have been producing affordable and natural Loire Valley wines for over 20 years. They are truly warm and generous people. But don’t take our word for it: you can watch them yourself in this short video interview we did with them during the professional Loire Valley wine tasting in Angers (Salon des Vins de Loire) earlier this year:
They’ll be in New York City for just a short time, so try to catch them if you can. These free wine-tastings are open to absolutely everyone, so you can meet Christine and Joel and taste their wines (if you’re in the trade, you can also contact your sales rep to arrange a visit):
Slope Cellars – Patty & Ben and the gang are just as warm and inviting as the winemakers they are hosting, so worth even a trip across town to visit this store, specializing in small production artisanal wines, and lots of cheap and tasty wines in addition to those from Domaine des Sablonnettes!
Friday May 20, 5-8 pm
Natural Wine Company– This tasting will also feature a special exhibition of paintings by Denis Huneau, who designs all the label art for the Sablonnettes wines and is joining them on their trip to NYC from France. Come meet artist and winemakers and sip some wines with us. You may even find a painting for that empty wall above the bed.
